JC-X200 HANDHELD XRF ANALYZER

Rapid, Nondestructive Elemental Screening at the Point of Inspection

The JC-X200 is a portable handheld X-ray fluorescence analyzer designed to screen ores, soils, alloys, welds and small samples without routinely transporting every specimen to a laboratory. It directs X-rays at a sample and measures the characteristic fluorescent signals emitted by its constituent elements, producing elemental information that can support faster field decisions.

Developed by Laizhou Jincheng Industrial Equipment Co., Ltd., the instrument combines a 50 kV rhodium-target X-ray tube, a large-area silicon drift detector, automatic filter selection, precision targeting and Android-based data management in a unit weighing less than 1.4 kg.

FIELD ANALYSIS REQUIREMENTS

Why Elemental Screening Is Needed Before Laboratory Confirmation

Conventional elemental analysis often requires sample collection, labeling, transportation and laboratory scheduling. These steps remain important for definitive testing, but they can slow down exploration, site assessment, incoming-material inspection and production decisions. A handheld XRF analyzer adds a preliminary screening stage at the location where the material is found or received.

Prioritize Samples

Screen a larger group of field samples and identify which specimens should receive priority for laboratory preparation and confirmation.

Verify Materials

Compare received metals or fabricated components with expected material characteristics before they enter subsequent processes.

Guide Field Decisions

Use immediate elemental observations to adjust sampling locations, investigate anomalies or separate materials for further evaluation.

Preserve Samples

Perform nondestructive screening where retaining the original sample or minimizing preparation is operationally important.

CORE ANALYTICAL PLATFORM

Hardware and Algorithms Designed for Stable Element Detection

The JC-X200 portable XRF spectrometer integrates excitation, signal detection, temperature control, calibration and result processing within one handheld platform. Each component contributes to measurement speed, repeatability and practical usability across changing field conditions.

Excitation Source

A 50 kV, 200 μA, 4 W rhodium-target X-ray tube provides the excitation required to analyze elements across supported mining, soil and alloy workflows.

Large-area SDD Detector

The silicon drift detector provides high-sensitivity signal collection. Combined with upgraded calibration and analysis algorithms, it supports improved counting performance, testing speed and repeatability.

Automatic Filter Selection

Six filters switch automatically according to the selected voltage and target elements, reducing manual adjustment and helping optimize excitation for the active analytical mode.

Thermal Control

Peltier cooling enables the detector controller to operate at approximately −35°C, supporting stable detection across an instrument operating range of −20°C to 55°C and 10% to 90% relative humidity.

Performance context: Actual detection limits, accuracy and measurable elements depend on the sample matrix, surface condition, calibration model, measurement time and operating procedure.
TARGETING AND INSTRUMENT PROTECTION

Focused Measurement for Small Features and Irregular Samples

Small welds, narrow inspection zones and mixed-material surfaces require more control than broad-area screening. The JC-X200 combines visual positioning, a micro-spot collimator and physical detector protection to help operators place measurements more deliberately.

HD Color Camera

The integrated camera allows the operator to view and record the selected test location, improving traceability when multiple points or local material features are evaluated.

Micro-spot Collimator

The X-ray beam can be focused to a spot no larger than 3 mm in diameter, supporting targeted analysis of welds, small components, narrow areas and local compositional variations.

Dual-layer Detector Protection

An internal stainless-steel shutter opens during measurement and closes afterward, helping protect the detector window from contact with sharp or irregular specimens.

Flexible Benchtop Placement

The square base supports stable placement on a work surface. Aligned lower and rear surfaces also allow reverse upright use for small samples without continuously holding the analyzer.

ANALYTICAL MODES

Configured Workflows for Mining, Soil and Alloy Screening

Application-specific modes organize calibration and analysis around the material being tested. Installed modes and supported elements should be confirmed for each order because configuration can vary by application, target element, market and calibration requirement.

Mining Mode

Supports preliminary ore screening, mineral exploration and rapid assessment of rock, ore and drilling materials.

Supported screening range includes: Mg, Al, Si, P, S, K, Ca, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, As, Se, Sr, Rb, Zr, Nb, Mo, Ag, Sn, Sb, Ba, W, Ta, Au, Hg, Pb, Bi and U.

Soil Mode

Designed for field screening of metals and other detectable elements in soil during environmental assessment and sampling programs.

Supported screening range includes: Mg, Al, Si, P, S, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, As, Se, Sr, Rb, Zr, Mo, Ag, Cd, Sn, Sb, Ba, W, Tl, Hg, Pb, Bi and La.

Alloy-related Testing

Dedicated software supports selected alloy identification, incoming-material verification, metal sorting and local analysis of fabricated parts or welds.

A supplied 316 stainless-steel reference sample can be used for calibration checks within the applicable operating procedure.

OPERATION AND DATA MANAGEMENT

Android-based Control with Practical Data Connectivity

An ARM-based hardware platform and Android operating system provide a responsive interface for selecting methods, viewing results and organizing records. This digital workflow helps field teams transfer analytical information into desktop review, reporting and customer data systems.

  • Result formats: Save analytical results in CSV or PDF format for review and documentation.
  • Transfer options: Move data through Bluetooth, USB or Wi-Fi according to the available site workflow.
  • Instrument support: Automatic diagnostics and fault reporting help technical teams assess operating conditions.
  • Software maintenance: Remote software upgrades and technical evaluation are supported; hardware upgrade options can be assessed according to configuration and service requirements.

BUSINESS VALUE AND RESPONSIBLE USE

A Practical Screening Instrument for Faster, Better-documented Decisions

Field Efficiency Screen materials where they are collected, received or processed, reducing unnecessary movement of low-priority samples.
Focused Verification Use camera-assisted micro-spot measurement to investigate welds, small components and localized material differences.
Digital Traceability Store, export and transfer results to support internal review, field documentation and subsequent analytical work.
Laboratory Prioritization Direct confirmatory testing toward selected samples rather than treating all collected material with the same urgency.

Radiation Safety and Result Validation

XRF analyzers generate ionizing radiation and must be operated by trained personnel in accordance with applicable radiation-safety regulations, licensing requirements and approved procedures. Results used for regulatory reporting, commercial settlement or final material certification may require validated methods, certified reference materials, appropriate sample preparation and confirmation by an accredited laboratory.

For mining teams, environmental professionals, metallurgy operations and industrial quality-control departments, the JC-X200 provides a balanced combination of portable XRF hardware, application-specific analysis and connected data management. Supported by Laizhou Jincheng’s experience in industrial testing equipment, it is designed to make elemental screening more accessible at the point of work while preserving the role of validated laboratory analysis where definitive results are required.
